Hailing from a middle-class Sikh family in Amravati, Maharashtra, Jitesh dreamt of joining the Indian Armed Forces as a child. Cricket took precedence, and he made his List A debut for Vidarbha in the 2013-14 Vijay Hazare Trophy. First-class debut followed in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season. Jitesh’s cricketing aspirations began in his teens. While his initial dream was to join the Indian Armed Forces, cricket took center stage.
He impressed in the 2012-13 Cooch Behar Trophy, a youth tournament, scoring over 500 runs with two centuries, paving the way for his selection in the Vidarbha senior team.
Jitesh made his first-class debut in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season.
